Greater Phoenix Engineers Week 2017

February 19-25 is Engineers Week in 2017. This is an exciting time for engineers who celebrate the positive contributions made to society. Engineers use their imagination and analytical skills to invent, design, and build things that matter. They are team players with independent minds who turn ideas into reality. Many become licensed professional engineers in order to better protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public. By dreaming up creative and practical solutions, engineers are changing the world all the time.

Everything around us and that we use every day has been engineered in some way, yet we may not see the engineers behind the scenes or know much about engineering. The engineering field is as varied as engineers themselves. Engineers can design and build superstructures or delicate medical instruments and are exploring for energy and new worlds in space. They are designing environmental controls, directing global companies and responsible for tomorrows cars and computers. Who knows where the next great challenges will be?

This coming year, in a continuing effort to make this a valley-wide event, the Engineer’s Week Greater Phoenix Area activities are being organized by a committee of professional engineering and science organizations throughout the area. We are please to bring you these exciting events for eWeek:

  • Engineers Day – February 25, 2017. A science fair event at the Arizona Science Center.
  • E-Week Reception – Engineer’s Week Happy Hour on Thursday, February 23, 2017 to  celebrate the contributions of our profession and the impact of E-Week Outreach and E-Day at the Science Center.
  • Outreach – Click here to find, to sign up for a classroom visit, and to volunteer.
